Weekly Gold — NFL Week 10
We’ve officially reached the midway point of Round 2 and our sights are set on Round 3. Reminder: You can create a league for Round 3 right now! So become a commissioner, invite your friends and get together for a draft!
With only three weeks left in Round 2, let’s take a look at which players could break out over the next couple of weeks.

Finishing Strong 💪
Which players will dominate in fantasy over the next three weeks? Well, here’s who we like:
QB — Baker Mayfield, Jamies Winston
RB — Josh Jacobs, LeVeon Bell, Saquon Barkley
WR — Tyler Lockett, D.J. Moore, Emmanuel Sanders
TE — George Kittle, Greg Olsen, Gerald Everett
Each one of these players faces a very favorable schedule over the next couple of weeks. Some of these guys have been studs this year, while some have been duds. We believe that most of them will be very successful over the next handful of weeks. If you’re rostering them, make sure they’re in your lineup.
Weekly Observations 💭
- The Patriots are human after all. And the Ravens are a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Lamar Jackson is unstoppable and is clearly the best QB from the 2018 NFL Draft, despite the fact that he was the 5th QB taken in the first round. Impressive. He’s also in the top 3 of the MVP race right now.
- Who needs Patrick Mahomes? The Chiefs took down the Vikings without the reigning MVP. Big win for KC. The Vikings are fine — though Adam Thielen’s injury is concerning.
- The Seahawks may be the luckiest team in the NFL, but sometimes you create your own luck. Russell Wilson is incredible and so is wide receiver Tyler Lockett. That duo is really in sync right now.
- Following up on the Seahawks point a bit here but the NFC West is the best division in football. The Rams, Hawks and 49ers are all real Super Bowl threats and the Cardinals look like a pretty competent team that is trending up.
- Christian McCaffrey continues to be a fantasy machine. Far and away the best fantasy asset right now.
- What happened to the Packers? 11 points against the Chargers? YIKES. The Pack should be fine but that was a very ugly performance.
- The Eagles are back on track. It may have been an ugly win against the Bears, but that’s usually what happens when you play the Bears. At 5–4, the birds are trending up and the race with the Cowboys is going to be interesting in the NFC East.
- The Browns are going to need a new coach after this season. You can’t have that much talent on offense and be this bad. It’s inexcusable. For those of you that are rostering Odell Beckham Jr., I feel your pain.
- Good win, Dolphins. But don’t win too much. You still need a QB after this season.
Waiver Wire Targets 🎯
Hunter Renfrow (Oakland Raiders WR)
Renfrow got off to a slow start this year, but has come on strong. He has 10 catches for 142 yards and a couple of TDs over the last two weeks. The Raiders offense looks pretty good, too.
Darrius Guice (Washington Redskins RB)
Guice is eligible to come back Week 11 after being placed on IR. He’s a wildly talented player and if you’re in need of a RB, he could be a stud coming down the stretch.
Zach Pascal (Indianapolis Colts WR)
With T.Y. Hilton being sidelined for what looks like to be a couple of more weeks, Pascal is a must own across all leagues. He had 76 yards and a TD against a tough Steelers defense. Even if Jacoby Brissett is out for a couple of weeks, Pascal should find success.
Mike Gesicki (Miami Dolphins TE)
If you desperately need a TE, Gesicki could be an intriguing option. He caught 6 passes for 95 yards against the Jets on Sunday and is a player who showed a ton of potential at Penn State. He can be a dynamic playmaker when targeted. Ryan Fitzpatrick finally recognized that Gesicki actually plays for the Dolphins, so perhaps the TE will break out over the next couple of weeks.
Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith Jr. (Minnesota Vikings TE)
With Adam Theilen’s injury in mind, the Vikings will have to find some more playmakers. Sure, Stefan Diggs and Dalvin Cook are great, but someone else will need to step up. Will it be Rudolph or Smith? We think it could be. Rudolph is the safer choice, but Smith could be a breakout star.
FINAL WORDS 💭
At the halfway point of the season, here would be who I would vote for in some NFL award races, as well as some made up fantasy awards.
- NFL MVP: DeShaun Watson (sorry Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson)
- NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year: Kyler Murray & Josh Jacobs (tied)
- Fantasy Football MVP: Christian McCaffrey
- Fantasy Football Rookie of the Year: Josh Jacobs
- Fantasy Football Surprise of the Year: Austin Ekeler
