In case you’re not in a league, here’s what you’re missing out on:
Day 2 Highlights 🎞
Round 2 was highlighted by the skill position players and its potential impact on not only real NFL teams, but fantasy football. We had 11 wide receivers, 8 running backs, 5 tight ends and a QB come off the board on Friday night.

Here’s some Winners and Losers from Day 2:
Winners 🏆
Running Backs: Of the top five RBs, I don’t think any of them ended up in a bad situation. Edwards-Helaire to KC, D’Andre Swift to Detroit, Jonathan Taylor to Indianapolis, Cam Akers to the Rams and J.K. Dobbins to the Ravens. Even futher down the line I like Ke’Shawn Vaughn in Tampa Bay and Darrynton Evans in Tennessee.
Indianapolis Colts: Indy came away with two incredible offensive weapons in USC WR Michael Pittman Jr. and Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor. Pittman is a do-it-all WR who should immediately be a favorite target of Philip Rivers. My pre-draft comp for him was Keenan Allen (👀👀👀). Taylor is a wildly talented RB who should be able to dominate behind that Colts offensive line.
Baltimore Ravens: Not only did the Ravens get Dobbins, but they also got DT Justin Madubuike, WR Devin Duvernay, LB Malik Harrison and OT Tyre Phillips. That’s a haul for a team coming off a 14–2 season. Watch out.
Carolina Panthers: The Panthers haven’t made any sexy picks, but their defense is going in the right direction. A day after taking DT Derrick Brown, the Panthers got Yetur Gross-Matos, a DE who could have been a first round pick, and Jeremy Chinn, who could be one of the best safeties in the draft.
Losers 🤡
Eagles fans: It’s tough to understand why a team would “waste” a 2nd round pick on a QB in Jalen Hurts that seemingly doesn’t have a future as the starter in Philly. After all, Carson Wentz is still relatively young and entering his prime. I get the hate. But calm down. You invested a lot of money in Wentz and he has an injury history. As we saw in the playoffs last year, the team cannot succeed with its current crop of backups. Hurts has a huge upside and can fill a Taysom Hill type role in the meantime. The Eagles can win games with Hurts if Wentz has more injury issues. This seems like it could be a great match.
New England: I actually liked New England’s first three picks of the night, including safety Kyle Dugger. However, the two tight ends they picked, UCLA’s Devin Asiasi and Virginia Tech’s Dalton Keene, were huge reaches and neither is a true game changer in the passing game. Both could have been had later in the draft. I know Belichick has a history of drafting good tight ends, but I don’t see it with these two.
Green Bay: Are the Packers actively trying to get Aaron Rodgers to request a trade? With a serious need at WR and TE, the Packers picked RB A.J. Dillon in the second round and then went for Cincinnati “TE” Josiah Deguara in the third. Dillon seemingly is blocked by Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. They don’t really need a bruiser in the backfield. Meanwhile. Deguara is more of a H-back. Are the Packers moving to a power run game? Seems odd.
NFL Tight End Evaluations: Speaking of tight ends, we’ve had five go off the board thus far, but 3 of them seemed like wild reaches (Asisia, Keene and Deguara). I’m confused as to why teams didn’t target Washington’s Hunter Bryant, FAU’s Harrison Bryant, Missouri’s Albert Okwuegbunam and a couple of others.
Here’s the best and worst Picks of Day 2:
Best
Los Angeles Rams: Cam Akers, RB, Florida State (Pick 52)
Without Todd Gurley in the backfield, it made sense for the Rams to go out and get another RB to pair with 2019 draft pick Darrell Henderson. Akers was one of the best recruits in the country coming out of high school, but had a bit of a disappointing career at FSU. However, he was stuck in a bad system behind a terrible offensive line. It definitely wasn’t him, he’s electric. He could be the best RB in this draft class long term.
Worst
New England Patriots: Devin Asiasi, TE, UCLA (Pick 91)
The Patriots were in need of a tight end and came away with two on the night in Asiasi and Virginia Tech’s Dalton Keene. However, there were much better TE’s on the board and Asiaisi would have been available later in the draft.
